Nicos, originally studied Quantity Surveying and in 1984 was awarded a Bachelor of Science from the University of Greenwich. Following a work based training with a Quantity Surveying firm in London and after being successful in the Test of Professional Competence, he became a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
After reading law at the University of London, he was awarded an LLB with honours. He has been o member of the Cyprus Barristers Association since 2005. From the beginning of his career Nicos has shown particular interest in arbitration and in 2015 he was admitted as a Fellow to the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. As a testimony to his interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution, he has been the Honorary Treasurer of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Cyprus Branch) and is now the Chairman.
During his 32 years of experience, he worked as a Quantity Surveyor, Claims Management Consultant, Lawyer representing Contractors and Employers in court and in arbitration proceedings. He has acted as an Expert Witness, an Arbitrator and Dispute Adjudication Board (DAB) on major construction and Engineering disputes. He has over 1000 hours of experience as a trainer of construction professionals on matters relating to construction law, contract administration, claims preparation and dispute resolution.
His progressive career roles within the construction and engineering industry enabled him to gain an all-round experience and a detailed understanding of all facets of the dispute resolution process and a hands-on experience of technical and legal issues.
